Sendai Tsunami Information Conveyance System
Sendai broadcasts tsunami warnings and evacuation information from the 79 outdoor speakers placed in tsunami evacuation areas (areas where there is danger of flooding) so that information can be conveyed to citizens quickly. The city also loans separate individual receivers to neighborhood associations, the houses of fire brigade representatives, and those who are hard of hearing who live in these areas.
