Emergency Alert E-Mails
During large-scale disasters we send “emergency alert e-mails” with evacuation information published by the city to the cellphones of people in target areas of Sendai (this excludes incompatible models). These e-mails are sent in collaboration with NTT DoCoMo, KDDI (au), and Softbank Mobile, and can be received even when phone lines aren’t working due to heavy traffic.
