SENDAI -Towards a Disaster-Resilient and Environmentally-Friendly City

The World Bosai Forum is an international conference that has been held regularly in Sendai since 2017 under an agreement between the International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS) of Tohoku University and the International Disaster and Risk Conference (IDRC Davos) held in Switzerland.
While IDRC Davos focuses on experts in the field, the World Bosai Forum is distinctive for having programs in which a wide range of participants including citizens are welcomed.
As a member of the executive committee, the City of Sendai offers its support in organizing the conference. By holding the Sendai Symposium for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Future concurrently, the city attempts to generate synergy in providing citizens with the opportunity to come into contact with the world's most advanced disaster risk reduction know-how and to interact with international experts.
